Racing Incident Report

As the gates opened, MR PRESIDENT put its head down, then began awkwardly and consequently lost ground at the start. ACME OF SURPRISE began awkwardly. DYNAMIC COMBO was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room inside WAH YAN MASCOT which shifted in away from LUCKY ENCOUNTER after initially being carried in by that horse. Approaching the winning post the first time, BULLSHOT was crowded for room inside MAESTRO. Then passing the winning post the first time, BULLSHOT was checked when crowded for room inside MAESTRO which at this time was carried in by LUCKY ENCOUNTER (D Whyte) which after being ridden along to improve inside EL VIENTO got its head on the side and shifted in away from that horse which itself was shifting in. D Whyte was told in similar circumstances he would be expected to exercise more care. After the 1200 Metres, LUCKY ENCOUNTER was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of ACME OF SURPRISE. Also after the 1200 Metres, WATCHMAN, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, BULLSHOT became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of MAESTRO. In the middle stages, WAH YAN MASCOT raced wide and without cover. In the early part of the Straight , EL VIENTO got its head on the side and hung in. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, RENA'S WUNDERBAR was unable to obtain clear running between SUPER BEST and EL VIENTO, both of which were giving ground. WATCHMAN, LUCKY ENCOUNTER and ACME OF SURPRISE were sent for sampling.
