Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, the right front plate on TELECOM SUPERBOSS was refitted. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and considered suitable to race. FLYING KENNY bounded in the air at the start and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of CENAMIRA which shifted out. JOYFUL WORLD was a little slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between CENAMIRA which shifted further and GALLANT HORSE which got its head on the side and shifted in away from TOUCH OF CLASS. BIG WINNER was slow to begin, shifted out and made contact with FLYING KENNY. In the early stages, GALLANT HORSE proved difficult to settle, then making the turn at the 800 Metres hung out. Also in the early stages, JOYFUL WORLD proved very difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NORTHERN ROSE. At the 1200 Metres, FLASH HARRY got its head up, then blundered. After the 1200 Metres, TOUCH OF CLASS was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside WIN FOR ALL which at this time was proving difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of IN THE BANK. In the middle stages, FLASH HARRY raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. On straightening, FLYING KENNY, which for some distance had been unable to improve when racing behind GALLANT HORSE, was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between GALLANT HORSE and CENAMIRA. For the majority of the race, WIN FOR ALL raced wide in a forward position without cover. Apprentice M W Leung (CHECK MATE) said the intention had been to ride the horse around midfield. He said however shortly after the start as a result of being inconvenienced, runners to his inside then went forward in a line. He said for him to race in midfield he would have been in his opinion unnecessarily wide, he therefore in the early stages steadied his mount, shifted back across behind runners, however, was further back than intended. The explanation of Apprentice Leung was accepted. GALLANT HORSE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of GALLANT HORSE after the race did not show any significant findings. IN THE BANK and CHECK MATE were sent for sampling.
