Racing Incident Report

This morning during track work KIDDYLAND dislodged its rider and completed a circuit of the small All Weather Track before being recaptured. Shortly after being recaptured, KIDDYLAND was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. EVER KING and KIDDYLAND were slow to begin. On jumping, DIAMOND ERA sprawled in front. Also on jumping, SERIOUS PLAY made contact with PROGRESSING TIMES. Near the 1300 Metres, GOOD NATURE was steadied away from the heels of BYRON which shifted in. Passing the 1200 Metres, SUPER FANTASY, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up. Passing the 1000 Metres, WINNING SUNSHINE threw its head about when close to the heels of GOOD NATURE. In the middle stages, GOOD NATURE proved difficult to settle. After straightening, TABBRIS, when giving ground, hung in. After the 200 Metres, EVER KING was steadied and shifted to the outside of PROGRESSING TIMES to continue going forward. For some distance after the 200 Metres, DIAMOND ERA, which was commencing to close the race off strongly, had difficulty obtaining clear running between SUPER FANTASY and SHINY RIBBON. Over the concluding stages, BYRON hung in. TABBRIS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, TABBRIS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TABBRIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOOD NATURE and SHINY RIBBON were sent for sampling.

TABBRIS, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. TABBRIS was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A Lee this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a swollen right front fetlock. As previously advised, TABBRIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
