Racing Incident Report
LOK WAH SUCCESS was withdrawn on raceday morning on veterinary grounds (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, LOK WAH SUCCESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Before leaving the Parade Ring, LUCKY TRIO had its right hind plate reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said it was suitable to race. When the gates opened, FLASH HARRY bounded in the air and lost ground. CHAMPION WINNER, which was to be ridden with cover today, began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped PICTURE PERFECT. As a result of this, PICTURE PERFECT shifted in, causing crowding on its inside to BULLISH GENERAL which in turn shifted ground, resulting in MASTER SPIRIT losing its position. Near the 1200 Metres, BULLISH GENERAL was steadied to avoid the heels of PICTURE PERFECT (D Whyte) which shifted in when not clear. D Whyte was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. In the early stages, GREAT STAR proved difficult to settle. In the middle stages, LUCKY TRIO hung out. Near the 600 Metres, FLASH HARRY was steadied when crowded for room between SOLAR POWER and BULLISH GENERAL which momentarily shifted in. No action was taken. On straightening, FLASH HARRY was steadied and shifted to the outside of BULLISH GENERAL to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres, PRESENT TREASURE, which was improving towards the run between PICTURE PERFECT and BULLISH GENERAL, was steadied and shifted to the outside of BULLISH GENERAL as that horse commenced to drift in. CHAMPION WINNER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, CHAMPION WINNER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had bled from both nostrils. PICTURE PERFECT and BULLISH GENERAL were sent for sampling.
