Racing Incident Report
When leaving the Parade Ring, LOTZATOW kicked out and made contact with a rail. After arriving at the Start, LOTZATOW was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Also after arriving at the Start, it was noted VERY FIT had blood present at its mouth. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. With the intention of being ridden quietly, HAPPEE OWNER on jumping threw its head up and lost ground. Also with the intention of being ridden quietly, GOOD NATURE was allowed to drift back and shift across behind runners in the early stages. BRILLIANT ONE began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall, shifted ground and bumped LOTZATOW, causing that horse to shift in onto HAIL THE STORM. In the early stages, HAWKES BAY proved difficult to settle. GOOD NATURE, which was proving difficult to settle, made the turn near the 800 Metres awkwardly. On straightening, GOOD NATURE was shifted out in an endeavour to find clear running, then after the 400 Metres was shifted back in to improve. In the Straight, GREAT ACHIEVEMENT hung in and near the 300 Metres shifted some ground, causing inconvenience to HAWKES BAY which was giving ground. HAWKES BAY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, HAWKES BAY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HAWKES BAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HELLO PRETTY and SUNNY SING were sent for sampling. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on HAIL THE STORM at the request of the trainer. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HAIL THE STORM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
