Racing Incident Report

SUMMERVILLE POWER was withdrawn on 22.11.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, SUMMERVILLE POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SYLLABUS was difficult to load, causing a delay to the start. Before being allowed to race again, SYLLABUS will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. CLEAN SWEEP was slow to begin. SYLLABUS began awkwardly, shifted out, bumped the hindquarters of EXPRESS WIN and as a consequence lost ground. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, TOP HONOR failed to muster speed. Approaching the 800 Metres, ROCKET WIN was steadied away from the heels of YOUNG HERO which became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of POT OF GOLD. Near the 100 Metres, KING PRAWN SUPREME, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied when awkwardly placed between NOBLE CONQUEROR and CLEAN SWEEP. In the Straight, NOBLE CONQUEROR hung in and proved difficult to ride. For the major part of the race, POT OF GOLD hung in. Throughout the race, DISGUISE travelled wide and without cover. TOP HONOR and DISGUISE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TOP HONOR and DISGUISE after the race did not show any significant findings. DANESIS and CLEAN SWEEP were sent for sampling.< 24/11/2008 Additional Veterinary Report> DISGUISE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. DISGUISE was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer D E Ferraris this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a stiff and restricted hindlimb action and a significant back pain. Before being allowed to race again, DISGUISE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
