Racing Incident Report
HAPPY TUMBLER stumbled on jumping. Near the 500 Metres, SUPERNOVA was momentarily crowded for room between WARM EMBRACES and SUPER GENKI which shifted out when being checked away from the heels of ABLE DRAGON. Near the 300 Metres, MAN IN THE MIRROR was checked away from the heels of the tiring CHAMPION LAD. Over the concluding stages, SUPER GENKI and SUPERNOVA raced tight. Also over the concluding stages, MAN IN THE MIRROR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPY TUMBLER. Because of this, MAN IN THE MIRROR was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. For the majority of the race, GALAXY TREASURE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the performance of CHAMPION LAD, W C Marwing said that he was obliged to ride his mount along in the early and middle stages to take up a forward position as instructed. He said at no stage of the race did CHAMPION LAD travel and passing the 1200 Metres got its head on the side and was inclined to lay out. He said for this reason near the 800 Metres GRAND PROFIT was able to shift from the fence into a two wide position, resulting in CHAMPION LAD being carried out to a three wide position. He added CHAMPION LAD was not travelling well enough at this time to improve around GRAND PROFIT and consolidate its position. He said in the Straight CHAMPION LAD was very disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding. A veterinary inspection of CHAMPION LAD after the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY TUMBLER, GOOD LUCK WIN and SUPER GENKI were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that HAPPY TUMBLER had sustained a cut to the right front heel. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY TUMBLER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
