Racing Incident Report

During the preliminary, Apprentice M L Yeung was dislodged from NOBLE DE BEST near the 300 Metres. NOBLE DE BEST then galloped to the Start riderless. On arrival at the Start, NOBLE DE BEST was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. TOPPING LIGHT bounded in the air at the start and consequently lost ground. From the outside barrier, ABLE CHARM was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 1100 Metres, when being steadied to obtain positions closer to the rail, IRON HAWK, NOBLE DE BEST and ABLE CHARM all proved difficult to settle. For some distance after the 1000 Metres, TOPPING LIGHT raced in restricted room inside the heels of RAINBOW SEEKER. W C Marwing (OCEAN WIDE) was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in near the 100 Metres, resulting in SHINING TRIUMPH being steadied away from the heels of OCEAN WIDE. Over the final 50 Metres, ABLE CHARM was not able to obtain clear running. Because of this, ABLE CHARM was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Over the concluding stages, RAINBOW SEEKER was steadied when crowded for room inside TOPPING LIGHT which shifted in. As a consequence, RAINBOW SEEKER was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Also over the concluding stages, GLENEALY STAR raced in restricted room inside FRESH AIR which shifted in. In the Straight, RAINBOW SEEKER got its head on the side and hung in. FRESH AIR and OCEAN WIDE were sent for sampling.
