Racing Incident Report

APPRECIATION and FLORA DANICA bumped at the start. CASA JUNIOR was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, LET’S GOAL shifted out and bumped YUE LU TREASURE which became unbalanced and shifted out. YUE LU TREASURE then made heavy contact with MASTER OF FASTER, resulting in both horses becoming badly unbalanced. From a wide barrier, GO LUCKY GO was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 1300 Metres, when racing wide, FLORA DANICA got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle. Approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, EXCEPTIONAL ART got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of APPRECIATION. Approaching the 600 Metres, EXCEPTIONAL ART, which was continuing to over-race, was checked away from the heels of APPRECIATION and in doing so shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CASA JUNIOR which was checked and lost ground when racing tight inside the hindquarters of APPRECIATION. Approaching the 200 Metres, SUPER HURRICANE was shifted out when disappointed for running inside MANY GAINS. Passing the 150 Metres, FLYING CHAPARRAL got its head on the side and shifted out. For the majority of the race, MASTER OF FASTER travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GO LUCKY GO had bled from both nostrils and APPRECIATION had sustained lacerations to the left hind tendon region, the outside of the fetlock and hock. He also reported that SUPER HURRICANE had lost its left front plate. FLYING CHAPARRAL and FLYING IN were sent for sampling.
