Racing Incident Report
ACTUARY was withdrawn on 7.1.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left fore tendon). Before being allowed to race again, ACTUARY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Whilst in the saddling stalls, RACING REWARD lost its left front plate. This plate was refitted. RACING REWARD was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. EASY TRACK was slow to begin and then travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. From the outside barrier, FLYING TOGETHER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Approaching the 900 Metres, SPEECHMAKER raced in restricted room inside MONEYMAKER which itself was awkwardly placed inside the heels of RACING REWARD. A short distance after this, MONEYMAKER was steadied by its rider when awkwardly placed between SPEECHMAKER and RACING REWARD. When MONEYMAKER was eased, COSTA DEL SOL, which was following, was checked away from the heels of that horse and lost ground when checked out across the heels of ELITE FORTUNE. MASTER GUNNER, which was also following MONEYMAKER, was shifted in away from the heels of that horse which resulted in AMAZING SUPERNOVA being momentarily crowded for room. FLYING TOGETHER had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and near the 300 Metres shifted out away from the heels of EASY TRACK which was weakening and in doing so made contact with the hindquarters of MONEYMAKER which became unbalanced. A veterinary inspection of ELITE FORTUNE after the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, ELITE FORTUNE will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of MONEYMAKER after the race did not show any significant findings. ALL VICTORY and LIBERTY VALANCE were sent for sampling.
<9/1/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> ELITE FORTUNE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. ELITE FORTUNE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A T Millard this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, ELITE FORTUNE will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
