Racing Incident Report

MOCHI was crowded for room at the start between VICTORY MASCOT and EASY TO RICH, both of which shifted ground.
ZACHARY shifted in at the start and bumped MEGA CHAMPION.
From the outside barrier, HO HO LIFE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Near the 300 Metres, ALL ROUND became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by HORSE APLENTY.
Passing the 200 Metres, EASY TO RICH shifted in under pressure and bumped the hindquarters of ZACHARY which became unbalanced. A short distance later, EASY TO RICH momentarily raced tight between ZACHARY which shifted out after becoming unbalanced and MEGA CHAMPION which shifted in marginally.
When questioned, Y T Cheng stated that after HORSE APLENTY travelled well in the early and middle stages, he placed it under pressure approaching the 500 Metres to commence improving. He said when he did this, HORSE APLENTY immediately came off the bridle and when being ridden along became unbalanced and shifted ground. He said rounding the Home Turn HORSE APLENTY appeared to him to lose its action and on several occasions in the Straight shifted ground. He said HORSE APLENTY did not feel comfortable in its action and refused to stretch out over the final 500 Metres. He added that HORSE APLENTY pulled up quickly after the winning post and continued to feel uncomfortable in its action when being brought back to the unplaced saddling area. He said he had ridden HORSE APLENTY in a barrier trial leading up to tonight’s race as well as in two pieces of track work and these three pieces of work, in his opinion, were only fair. Trainer Y S Tsui stated that the horse had pleased him in the lead up to tonight’s race and he was not able to offer any explanation for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection of HORSE APLENTY after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of HORSE APLENTY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HORSE APLENTY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of HO HO LIFE after the race did not show any significant findings.
MEGA CHAMPION and ZACHARY were sent for sampling.
