Racing Incident Report
SUNNY FAY began very awkwardly and lost ground.
HIGHEST ACCLAIM and RAINBOW FIGHTER made contact at the start.
YEE CHEONG STAR began only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between SICHUAN CHARM which shifted in and RAINBOW FIGHTER which shifted out after making contact with HIGHEST ACCLAIM.
Near the 1100 Metres, HIGHEST ACCLAIM was steadied away from the heels of RAINBOW FIGHTER (K Teetan) which shifted in when not properly clear. K Teetan was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future.
Near the 900 Metres, SNITZEL KID was briefly hampered when crowded for room between RAINBOW FIGHTER and PROLIFIC CHAMPION which got its head on the side and shifted out away from the heels of SICHUAN CHARM.
After the 900 Metres, RAINBOW FIGHTER proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied to allow HAWTHORNE to cross.
Over the final 200 Metres, YEE CHEONG STAR got its head on the side and hung in under pressure.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that whilst HIGHEST ACCLAIM may have been somewhat disappointing on face value, he was obliged to race further back in the field than had been intended due to the circumstances in the early part of the race. He said the track appeared to be favouring horses racing close to the pace and it was his opinion that HIGHEST ACCLAIM had some excuses for tonight’s performance. A veterinary inspection of HIGHEST ACCLAIM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of SUNNY FAY and BOOM BABY BOOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PRETTY ONE, SICHUAN CHARM and SNITZEL KID were sent for sampling.
