Racing Incident Report
When parading behind the barriers, MIRAGE became fractious, reared and fell over, resulting in its rider, T Angland, being dislodged. MIRAGE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of MIRAGE. Before being allowed to race again, MIRAGE will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Following this incident, T Angland was examined by the Club’s medical officers and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagement.
DINING WORLD was slow to begin.
From the outside barrier, DUNDONNELL was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, REAL GENEROUS failed to muster speed and became detached from the field until near the 800 Metres.
Near the 1200 Metres, HO IN ONE shifted out and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SECRET SHAM.
After the 1200 Metres, DUNDONNELL proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions.
Near the 550 Metres, HOLIDAY SUN raced in restricted room inside HO IN ONE which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SECRET SHAM.
GALLANT TRIUMPH had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
BANKSTERS BONUS was unable to obtain clear running from near the 300 Metres until after the 100 Metres. Because of this, BANKSTERS BONUS was not able to be properly tested.
SICHUAN VIGOUR was unable to obtain clear running until near the 250 Metres.
Near the 100 Metres, SICHUAN VIGOUR was shifted to the inside of the heels of BEAUTY FLAME after being awkwardly placed behind that horse. NEW GLORY, which was positioned to the inside of SICHUAN VIGOUR and giving ground, was momentarily steadied in consequence.
For the majority of the race, DIBAYANI travelled wide and without cover.
Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of B Prebble (DINING WORLD), 3rd placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit.
DINING WORLD, SECRET SHAM and HO IN ONE were sent for sampling.
