Racing Incident Report

SKY MASCOT, which was leaning on the inside of its gate, was slow to begin.
From wide barriers, BRILLIANT SHINE and HOLYANGELHOLY were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, BRILLIANT SHINE got its head up when proving difficult to settle.
After the 800 Metres, BEAUTY JOURNEY was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 600 Metres, CREATIVE WINNER lost ground when reluctant to maintain its position between BEAUTY JOURNEY and SKY MASCOT. BRILLIANT SHINE, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of CREATIVE WINNER in consequence.
At the 400 Metres, ACCESS YEARS was severely checked when attempting to improve between JOLLY SPRING and SMART FORWARD where there was insufficient room. ACCESS YEARS was then held up for clear running until after the 300 Metres. When ACCESS YEARS shifted to the outside of SMART FORWARD after the 300 Metres, it bumped with SPARKLING B.
When questioned, K C Leung stated that, from barrier 5, he had been instructed to have JOLLY SPRING racing where it was comfortable and it was felt that the horse would be able to obtain a position in midfield. He said JOLLY SPRING began well and he was able to cross runners to his inside with ease and shift in to race in a position just behind the leaders. He said whilst JOLLY SPRING ended up racing slightly more forward than had been intended, the horse travelled comfortably.
DOMINEER, SMART FORWARD and ACCESS YEARS were sent for sampling.
