Racing Incident Report

MASTER GUNNER was slow to begin.
AMBITIOUS TREASURE shifted out at the start, resulting in GOLDMEN Y Y being crowded for room out onto the hindquarters of CASA JUNIOR which became unbalanced.
Shortly after the start, YOUNG HAPPY was crowded for room inside DYNAMIC CROSS which got its head on the side and shifted in away from GOOD TIMES ROLL. In this incident, YOUNG HAPPY bumped CITY DELIGHT, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced.
From a wide barrier, MARVEL PLUS was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
H W Lai (AMBITIOUS TREASURE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 1400 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of DYNAMIC CROSS, causing that horse to be taken in onto CITY DELIGHT which was severely checked and lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled. When CITY DELIGHT was severely checked, YOUNG HAPPY, which was following, was checked in consequence and FIERY PATROL was hampered. H W Lai was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 13 February 2014 on which day he may resume race riding (4 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 26 January 2014. In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into consideration the high degree of carelessness exhibited by Jockey Lai in this incident and the severity of the interference suffered by CITY DELIGHT.
In the middle stages, ALL MY KINGDOMS got its head on the side and lay out.
Near the 250 Metres, ALL MY KINGDOMS and CASA JUNIOR raced tight as CASA JUNIOR got its head on the side and shifted in away from AMBITIOUS TREASURE.
GOOD TIMES ROLL, AMBITIOUS TREASURE and FIERY PATROL were sent for sampling.
