Racing Incident Report
U W BROTHER was crowded for room on jumping between TANG TREASURE and TARGET FINDER which shifted in.
MASTERWORK shifted in at the start and bumped G UNIT which made contact with the hindquarters of SHADOW BREAKER when crowded for room between those horses.
From the outside barriers, both FARHH ABOVE and LEGENDARY HERO were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, U W BROTHER and TARGET FINDER raced tight as TARGET FINDER shifted in.
Near the 950 Metres, JUDY’S STAR shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of G UNIT (Z Purton) which shifted in, resulting in TARGET FINDER being taken in and momentarily crowded onto U W BROTHER which became unbalanced after being bumped by TARGET FINDER. JUDY’S STAR was then shifted out to relieve the tightening to TARGET FINDER and U W BROTHER. Z Purton was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Approaching the 900 Metres, LEGENDARY HERO was steadied away from the heels of FARHH ABOVE which was taken in by SHADOW BREAKER (Apprentice K H Chan). Apprentice Chan was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Approaching the 700 Metres, U W BROTHER became unbalanced when racing tight inside TARGET FINDER which, when travelling keenly, shifted in away from the heels of G UNIT.
Near the 350 Metres, FARHH ABOVE raced tight outside JUDY’S STAR which shifted out. JUDY’S STAR again shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside FARHH ABOVE passing the 250 Metres before shifting in away from that horse passing the 200 Metres.
After the 100 Metres, TARGET FINDER was steadied and shifted in away from the heels of MASTERWORK which was weakening.
Throughout the race, MASTERWORK travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, it was noted that SHADOW BREAKER had sustained a cut to the right hock.
A veterinary inspection of U W BROTHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
FARHH ABOVE and JUDY’S STAR were sent for sampling.
