Racing Incident Report
WHAMPOA STAR began very awkwardly and lost ground at the start.
SUNNY MAJOR stumbled on jumping.
After being slow to begin from the outside barrier, GUERDON HELMET was steadied and shifted across behind runners soon after the start.
Soon after the start, CHATER THUNDER and SUN FOXHUNTER made contact as a consequence of both horses shifting ground.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SUNNY MAJOR was steadied when awkwardly placed between ASSOCIATION FANS and WONDERFUL TIGER which shifted out slightly.
Passing the 1200 Metres, ASSOCIATION FANS was steadied and lost ground when crowded for room inside TIGERLAD which shifted in momentarily when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUNNY MAJOR.
Passing the 400 Metres, CHATER THUNDER was bumped by LET’S COME BACK which shifted out around the heels of SUNNY MAJOR to improve.
The performance of TIGERLAD and SUN FOXHUNTER, both of which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TIGERLAD and SUN FOXHUNTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of TIGERLAD and SUN FOXHUNTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of ASSOCIATION FANS and LET’S COME BACK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, both horses were unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
LET’S COME BACK, HIDDEN SPIRIT and MASTER BERNINI were sent for sampling.
<8/10/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>LET’S COME BACK, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. LET’S COME BACK was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C Fownes yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, LET’S COME BACK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
