Racing Incident Report
MANAGEMENT STAR again stood flat-footed as the start was effected and lost a significant amount of ground. After interviewing Trainer K W Lui together with Starter, Mr A Speechley, it was decided that having regard to MANAGEMENT STAR’s prior record, the horse must undertake a series of consecutive barrier trials, such barrier trials only being able to commence after Mr Speechley gives approval for it to trial. Mr Lui was further advised that prior to being entered for any race in the future, unless otherwise directed, he must present MANAGEMENT STAR for practice to the Starters who then must give their approval for the horse to be able to be entered to race.
HAPPY WIN WIN began only fairly.
JIMMU shifted out at the start, resulting in FULL POWER being taken out, causing STARSHIP to be crowded for room. After this, from wide barriers, STARSHIP and STAR WIN were shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 1500 Metres, APEX TOP got its head up, became unbalanced and shifted out, resulting in FAMILY LEADER being shifted out away from the heels of APEX TOP and inconveniencing WONDER EXPRESS.
After the 1100 Metres, APEX TOP received contact from REGENCY MASTER which shifted out when allowing WONDER EXPRESS to cross. APEX TOP then shifted in approaching the 1000 Metres and bumped REGENCY MASTER.
After the 800 Metres, REGENCY MASTER raced close to the heels of APEX TOP.
Near the 750 Metres, MANAGEMENT STAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of JIMMU.
Passing the 500 Metres, FULL POWER raced tight outside FAMILY LEADER which shifted out to obtain clear running.
Passing the 300 Metres, HAPPY WIN WIN was directed to the inside of WONDER EXPRESS when disappointed for running between APEX TOP and WONDER EXPRESS which shifted out. After being directed towards the inside of WONDER EXPRESS, that horse then shifted in under pressure which resulted in HAPPY WIN WIN being held up for clear running and consequently being shifted to the outside of WONDER EXPRESS passing the 200 Metres to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, FULL POWER travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of FULL POWER and APEX TOP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REGENCY MASTER, FAMILY LEADER and STARSHIP were sent for sampling.
