Racing Incident Report

At the time of declaration, J Moreira notified a probable overweight of 2 lbs in respect of HELENE LEADINGSTAR’s allocated weight of 113 lbs. J Moreira then weighed in an additional 1 lb overweight, resulting in Jockey Moreira weighing in 3 lbs over the horse’s allocated weight. Jockey Moreira was fined the sum of $7,500.
HELENE LEADINGSTAR began awkwardly.
PLAYA DEL PUENTE shifted out at the start and bumped TIME WARP.
From the outside barriers, GLORIOUS DRAGON and COLUMBUS COUNTY were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
After the 1700 Metres, GLORIOUS DRAGON travelled keenly.
Approaching the 600 Metres and again passing the 500 Metres, CHEFANO was taken wider by COLUMBUS COUNTY which shifted out.
After the 300 Metres, SAVVY NINE raced tight inside the heels of BUTTERFIELD.
Passing the 250 Metres, GLORIOUS DRAGON was crowded for room between HO HO KHAN which shifted in after being bumped on the hindquarters by GLORIOUS DRAGON and HELENE LEADINGSTAR (J Moreira) which was attempting to shift out to obtain clear running. J Moreira was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Over the concluding stages, HELENE LEADINGSTAR raced tight outside BUTTERFIELD which shifted out under pressure.
A veterinary inspection of CHEFANO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GLORIOUS DRAGON and BUTTERFIELD were sent for sampling.
