Racing Incident Report
After arriving on course, DELIGHTFUL LAOS was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame in its left front leg and as such was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, DELIGHTFUL LAOS was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, DELIGHTFUL LAOS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
AMAZING ONE PLUS jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with INVINCIBLE MISSILE. AMAZING ONE PLUS was then shifted across behind runners and was inclined to race keenly in the early stages.
Near the 1500 Metres, ALL BEAUTY, which was racing keenly, was steadied when momentarily crowded by PACKING SUCCEEDER (M F Poon) which shifted in. M F Poon was advised to exercise more care.
Near the 1100 Metres, PACKING SUCCEEDER, which was over-racing, was checked to avoid the heels of STAR CONTACT. After the race, M F Poon advised that his intention was to obtain a midfield position with cover. He said PACKING SUCCEEDER jumped well tonight and when runners to his inside did not show intent to go forward, he was obliged to allow PACKING SUCCEEDER to take up a more forward position. He added that with the moderate pace of the event, PACKING SUCCEEDER raced too keenly and was left without a finishing effort. A veterinary inspection of PACKING SUCCEEDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Passing the 250 Metres, MEANINGFUL STAR shifted to the outside of STAR CONTACT to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped C P BRAVE, resulting in C P BRAVE shifting in slightly and MEANINGFUL STAR then becoming held up behind C P BRAVE for a short distance thereafter. Again inside the 200 Metres, MEANINGFUL STAR and C P BRAVE made contact, resulting in both runners becoming momentarily unbalanced.
After the race, M Chadwick (MAJESTIC VICTORY) reported that his intention was to endeavour to find a midfield position with cover. He said in the early stages when caught wide and the field was tight due to the slow pace, he was left racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection of MAJESTIC VICTORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ZONE D and MEANINGFUL STAR were sent for sampling.
