Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
3 ONE FOR ALL (G012) Bumped at the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 LEAN MASTER (H134) When questioned, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his instructions were to endeavour to lead the event if possible. He said his mount jumped only fairly and when ONE FOR ALL showed superior pace to his mount in the early stages, he elected to allow that runner to cross as he was of the opinion if he contested the lead, the pace would be too fast. He added after being crossed by ONE FOR ALL, LEAN MASTER commenced to race keenly which it continued to do throughout the middle stages. He said making the first turn he was reluctant to shift to the outside of ONE FOR ALL and race outside the lead as he was content to maintain his cover to endeavour to prevent it from racing too keenly in the middle stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 SIGHT HERO (D487) Bumped at the start.
7 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) No report.
1 DENFIELD (G471) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned, H Bowman stated that his instructions from a wide barrier were to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages. He said DENFIELD travelled satisfactorily in the early stages but from the 600 Metres he became concerned with his mount’s action, particularly when leading on its right leg. He said for this reason after entering the Home Straight he was reluctant to place his mount under full pressure as he continued to have concerns with its action until DENFIELD changed stride near the 250 Metres. He said once balanced he then commenced to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race. He added however he did not use the whip on DENFIELD as he felt his mount was responding strongly to his hand and heels riding. H Bowman was reminded of his obligation under Rule 105 to report to the Stewards immediately following the race any condition which may affect the performance of his horse during the running of a race. Trainer C S Shum confirmed the instructions issued and also confirmed that immediately after the race Jockey Bowman had expressed concern in relation to the horse’s action during the running of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The Stewards determined that DENFIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments before being allowed to race again.
11 TATTENHAM (H121) No report.
4 RUN RUN COOL (E322) No report.
12 DAN ATTACK (H317) No report.
8 FAIRY HORSE (J144) Jumped only fairly. Near the 600 Metres brushed the running rail and became unbalanced. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 FLYING PHANTOM (J086) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
5 ALMIGHTY KICK (J254) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
9 BRAVO WARRIOR (J088) Crowded at the start between ONE FOR ALL and SIGHT HERO, both of which shifted ground. After the 600 Metres became unbalanced when momentarily racing tight to the inside of TATTENHAM which lay in.
