Racing Incident Report

1 1 CHING (G380) After the race, L Hewitson stated that when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward to avoid racing wide. He said as a consequence CHING settled in a more forward position than what had been intended. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 9 PRAY FOR MIR (J245) Near the 100 Metres was bumped by CHING which shifted out slightly. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 8 BRIGHT INHERITANCE (J215) Near the 250 Metres H Bentley lost his whip. As this was the third occasion this season that H Bentley had lost his whip, he was issued with a warning.
4 10 SUNSTRIDER (J168) Jumped only fairly. Near the 500 Metres improved to the outside of TRUE GENIUS and as a consequence made contact with FORTUNE SUPERSTAR. For a short distance near the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving to the outside of TRUE GENIUS which shifted out slightly.
5 14 SMART CITY (J213) For a short distance near the 100 Metres and again over the concluding stages had difficulty obtaining clear running.
6 12 ARIEL (G223) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 6 SECOND TO NONE (H319) Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to BRIGHT INHERITANCE due to SMART CITY shifting out. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 3 FORTUNE SUPERSTAR (J210) Crowded approaching the 500 Metres. Leaving the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of SECOND TO NONE to obtain clear running.
9 7 TRUE GENIUS (J073) No report.
10 5 QUANTUM PATCH (H166) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages and raced keenly during the early stages.
11 2 EIGHTEEN CARAT (J104) Jumped only fairly. Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. Trainer C S Shum confirmed the instructions were to attempt to obtain a forward position. Over the concluding stages had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between ARIEL and TRUE GENIUS. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 4 THE HEIR (H459) After the race, H Bowman reported that his mount was unable to obtain clear running in the early part of the Home Straight and finished the race off in a one-paced manner thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 11 PERFECT PAIRING (J331) Slow to begin. Was left racing wide and without cover from the 850 Metres. Near the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded between QUANTUM PATCH and THE HEIR which shifted out when being held up for clear running behind SECOND TO NONE which also shifted out.
14 13 PRINCIPLED (J206) No report.
WV BEATO (H090) Withdrawn on 27.6.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter BRIGHT INHERITANCE. Before being allowed to race again, BEATO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
