4 3 SINBA (H091) Near the 150 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and became momentarily unbalanced.
5 2 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and the reason he did not improve into a run between AORAKI SUMMIT and SWEET BRIAR, K C Leung stated that after following BEAUTY FIT, he improved to that runner’s outside approaching the 400 Metres. He said near the 400 Metres AORAKI SUMMIT and SWEET BRIAR both shifted slightly and when he felt that the run was going to close, he elected to shift to the outside of SWEET BRIAR to follow the favourite GREEN N WHITE into the event. He added that after obtaining a position behind GREEN N WHITE near the 300 Metres, he then was unable to improve from the 200 Metres until the finish of the event when held up between GREEN N WHITE and SINBA which shifted in slightly. After considering his explanations, Jockey Leung agreed with the Stewards in that he had made an error of judgement in shifting too quickly to the outside of SWEET BRIAR as the run had always remained open between SWEET BRIAR and AORAKI SUMMIT and he would have obtained clear running had he persevered for this run. Whilst the Stewards elected not to take any action against Jockey Leung when they were satisfied that both SWEET BRIAR and AORAKI SUMMIT had shifted slightly near the 400 Metres, he was told he would be expected to ride his mounts with better judgement than what he did on this occasion. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

10 1 TAMRA BLITZ (G237) Jumped only fairly and then was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For some distance near the 700 Metres was steadied when crowded between FOREVER CHARM and the riderless SUGAR BALL which shifted out slightly.
11 6 AORAKI SUMMIT (H300) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, AORAKI SUMMIT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
12 14 FOREVER CHARM (J081) No report.
13 12 JUNE PLANET (H080) Near the 1100 Metres was severely checked when crowded by the riderless SUGAR BALL.
UR 13 SUGAR BALL (H394) Knuckled over badly on jumping, resulting in its rider M L Yeung being dislodged. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
