Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
6 VICTOR THE WINNER (G404) Sent for sampling post-race.
5 LUCKY WITH YOU (E356) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 WELLINGTON (D176) Steadied near the 900 Metres. Near the 850 Metres was bumped by LUCKY SWEYNESSE and raced wide and without cover thereafter.
13 SON PAK FU (G265) After the 350 Metres was briefly held up when disappointed for clear running between WHIZZ KID and LUCKY WITH YOU which shifted in slightly. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned between LUCKY WITH YOU and WELLINGTON.
12 FLYING ACE (G045) In the early stages raced keenly and near the 900 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from WELLINGTON.
1 LUCKY SWEYNESSE (G180) When questioned, Z Purton stated that it was his intention to hold a forward position and although his mount commenced reasonably well, it failed to show the early pace despite his efforts to ride his mount along. He said as a result LUCKY SWEYNESSE was obliged to settle in a position behind midfield where it followed PACKING TREADMILL. He said due to the early pace of the event being run outside of standard, LUCKY SWEYNESSE commenced to race keenly near the 1000 Metres and as a result he was checked to avoid PACKING TREADMILL near the 900 Metres, shifted out and made contact with WELLINGTON. He added that his intention was to continue to follow PACKING TREADMILL, but due to the pace of the event in the middle stages remaining outside of standard, he was positioned inside the heels of PACKING TREADMILL and although his preference was to endeavour to shift out and follow WELLINGTON, he was unable to do so as LUCKY SWEYNESSE had improved inside PACKING TREADMILL. He further stated that as a result he was obliged to make a run to the inside in the Home Straight when LUCKY SWEYNESSE had some difficulty securing clear running near the 300 Metres before he was able to place his mount under full pressure until approaching the 50 Metres where he was obliged to shift to the inside of SON PAK FU to continue into clear running. Trainer K L Man confirmed the intention was to hold a more forward position and was unable to offer an explanation as to why LUCKY SWEYNESSE did not show more pace in the early stages. He added LUCKY SWEYNESSE had pleased the stable in the lead up to today’s event and particularly had barrier trialed well on 9 January 2024. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. <29/1/2024 Additional Veterinary Reports>LUCKY SWEYNESSE, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. LUCKY SWEYNESSE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K L Man this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY SWEYNESSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 TAJ DRAGON (H164) Slow to begin. Near the 200 Metres was disappointed for clear running between SON PAK FU and FLYING ACE and was then shifted to the outside of FLYING ACE where it secured clear running near the 100 Metres.
11 WHIZZ KID (E392) No report.
10 PACKING TREADMILL (G161) Approaching the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of SON PAK FU (C L Chau) which shifted in when not quite clear. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care. After the 900 Metres made contact with LUCKY WITH YOU when racing tight between SUPER WEALTHY which shifted out and LUCKY WITH YOU. After the race, J Kah reported that the intention was to be more forward, but PACKING TREADMILL began only fairly and after being crowded near the 900 Metres settled further back than intended. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 COURIER WONDER (D449) Jumped only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Steadied near the 900 Metres.
7 DUKE WAI (C188) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and at the 900 Metres was steadied away from FLYING ACE. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 SIGHT SUCCESS (D375) Jumped awkwardly. When giving ground passing the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid WHIZZ KID which shifted in.
9 SUPER WEALTHY (D108) Near the 900 Metres got its head up when being restrained away from SIGHT SUCCESS. After the race, L Hewitson reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the event.
