Racing Incident Report
Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
| 9 | ENDEARED (H161) | Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 4 | ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (J039) | When questioned, L Hewitson stated that after the blindfold was removed from the horse in the starting gates it was given full opportunity to jump but reared as the start was effected. He said as a result ARMOUR WAR EAGLE settled back in the field. When questioned regarding his riding in the early part of the Home Straight, L Hewitson stated that when following EVERYONE’S STAR he elected to remain racing behind that runner as he was of the opinion that he would not be able to secure clear running between POPE CODY and TAMRA BLITZ. He said when POPE CODY commenced to give ground near the 300 Metres he was able to improve to that runner’s inside and obtain clear running to the outside of EVERYONE’S STAR near the 200 Metres where ARMOUR WAR EAGLE finished the race off well. Having considered his explanation in respect of his riding in the Home Straight the Stewards were satisfied that the option that Jockey Hewitson had taken was reasonable in the circumstances. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 13 | BEAUTY GLORY (E459) | No report. |
| 1 | STAR MAC (J053) | No report. |
| 11 | MIGHTY COMMANDER (J360) | Bumped at the start. |
| 6 | EVERYONE'S STAR (K172) | After being crossed by SOLID IMPACT near the 800 Metres raced keenly for some distance thereafter. After the event, J Moreira stated that the instructions were to obtain a position midfield with cover. He said after commencing well and when caught wide in the early stages he elected to continue to improve forward to avoid covering additional ground. He said as a result EVERYONE’S STAR raced in a more forward position than intended. |
| 10 | BEAUTY VIVA (K155) | Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded by TAMRA BLITZ which shifted in slightly. Despite being ridden along in the early stages BEAUTY VIVA then did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. Near the 200 Metres was held up for clear running when endeavouring to obtain a narrow run between SOLID IMPACT and EVERYONE’S STAR. |
| 3 | TAMRA BLITZ (G237) | A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, TAMRA BLITZ will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
| 7 | SOLID IMPACT (E447) | After the event, A Badel confirmed that from the outside barrier his instructions were to take up a forward position due to the perceived lack of early pace in the event. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and the reasons as to why such instructions were issued. |
| 2 | POPE CODY (K313) | Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
| 5 | RAGGA BOMB (K162) | Bumped at the start. In the middle stages raced keenly. For some distance near the 500 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from SUNNYVALE and hung out making the Home Turn. |
| 12 | SUNNYVALE (K036) | No report. |
| 8 | SMART TRIO (J538) | Hung out making the Home Turn. |
