10 FORTUNE STAR (K003) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between NEBRASKAN and AMAZING AWARD. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) No report.
9 JUBILANT WINNER (J346) Jumped only fairly.
1 GALAXY WITNESS (G110) Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
5 AMAZING AWARD (J236) Sustained a small abrasion to the right hip whilst being transported to Happy Valley. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. After the event K Teetan stated that his mount was disadvantaged when it was unable to improve into the event from the 600 Metres due to NAMJONG KINGDOM commencing to give ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 NEBRASKAN (J304) No report.
2 THE AZURE (J227) Making the Home Turn was taken wider when JUBILANT WINNER shifted out to improve.
3 CHAIN OF GOLD (J138) Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between SATIRICAL FAN and WAH MAY WAI WAI which was taken out by NEBRASKAN (A Hamelin). A Hamelin was advised to exercise more care. CHAIN OF GOLD then had difficulty obtaining clear running for the remainder of the event and could not be fully ridden out to the finish. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CHAIN OF GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 SATIRICAL FAN (J214) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 GOOD LUCK WIN (J135) After the event Y L Chung stated that his mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position and as a result was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added as a result his mount gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 NAMJONG KINGDOM (K015) Raced wide and without cover until near the 900 Metres. After the event J Orman stated that when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow the horse to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground which resulted in NAMJONG KINGDOM settling closer than expected. He added in the Home Straight his mount gave ground quickly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of NAMJONG KINGDOM, which finished tailed out on the second occasion in recent starts, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NAMJONG KINGDOM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
