After the event M Chadwick stated that his mount, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley, raced greenly throughout the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. |
| 10 | 5 | FLASH STAR (K431) | Brushed a rail leaving the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. Jumped only fairly and shortly afterwards was severely checked when crowded between WINNING DIAMOND which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider and GENIUS BABY which shifted in after making heavy contact with JOLLY COMPANION. In the Home Straight raced greenly and hung in. As a result Apprentice E C W Wong had difficulty testing his mount in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |

| 10 | ISLAND BREEZES (J479) | Was a late withdrawal acting on veterinary advice after being found to be lame in its right front leg on arrival at Happy Valley. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND BREEZES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
