Racing Incident Report

1 6 OLDTOWN (K105) Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with GIDDY UP. Near the 900 Metres was crowded between GOOD FORTUNE which shifted out when positioned close to GIDDY UP and VOYAGE BOSS which lay in towards LUCKY MCQUEEN and was steadied to avoid that runner. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 4 JUBILANT STAR (K410) Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of GOOD FORTUNE. Briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 8 BUNTA BABY (J465) Jumped awkwardly. Noted to have sustained a laceration to the left hock.
4 1 VOYAGE BOSS (K321) When questioned K C Leung stated that near the 900 Metres his mount lay in and away from BUNTA BABY and was steadied to avoid LUCKY MCQUEEN.
5 7 INVICTUS DRAGON (K318) Had its left front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded by VOYAGE BOSS which shifted in and away from BUNTA BABY (Apprentice P N Wong) after being taken in by that runner. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care.
6 5 GOOD FORTUNE (H349) Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping. Despite being ridden along in the early stages was unable to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. Noted to have sustained a laceration to the right front leg. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 9 VON BAER (K198) Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid CLUB ACE and as a result shifted out. After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to restrain his mount and race at the rear of the field to avoid covering additional ground.
8 3 GIDDY UP (J020) Bumped at the start. Approaching the 500 Metres was eased when crowded between LUCKY MCQUEEN and JUBILANT STAR which shifted out slightly.
9 2 WAVE GARDEN (K209) Jumped only fairly and then raced in restricted room between INVICTUS DRAGON and LUCKY MCQUEEN which shifted out slightly. After the event L Ferraris reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position but his mount settled further back when it jumped only fairly and was tightened shortly after the start.
10 11 CLUB ACE (J523) Near the 900 Metres was bumped by OLDTOWN and became unbalanced.
11 10 LUCKY MCQUEEN (K064) Leaving the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid BUNTA BABY (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and advised she must ensure she is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.
12 12 ELEGANT LIFE (J366) After the event A Badel stated that from an inside barrier his mount commenced well and was able to take up a forward position in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, ELEGANT LIFE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
