14 J223  SUNNY Q  14/09/2025   24  SUNNY Q (J223) when questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight rider stated that after settling back in the field, soon after entering the Home Straight he improved to the outside of a runner to obtain clear running and followed the favourite into the event. He said near the 300M the favourite did not improve as he had expected which resulted in his mount being held up behind that runner for a short distance before shifting to its inside to secure a clear run. He added that approaching the 200M he elected to endeavour to improve between two runners as he was of the opinion that the favourite was not finishing the race off and he would be able to improve to the inside of that horse. He added that when the favourite unexpectedly maintained this position and the 8th placegetter then shifted out under pressure he was obliged to check his mount when disappointed for clear running between those two horses. He said a short distance later he was able to shift to the inside of the 8th placegetter where he secured clear running near the 100M and his mount finished the race off strongly. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider were reasonable in the circumstances - Race 024.
