When questioned regarding his riding rider stated that after the 700M his mount raced keenly when positioned close to a runner and when that runner was racing ungenerously his focus was on avoiding that runner. He added that when another runner improved quickly to his outside near the 650M he was then unable to shift out and as a consequence was steadied and made contact with the runner, which resulted in his mount being held up for clear running making the Home Turn. He said after being held up in the early stages of the Home Straight he endeavoured to improve between the two runners where in the opinion of the Stewards, there was not sufficient room to do so. A short distance later was checked when disappointed for that run - Race 061.

3 J446  FORTUNATE SON  16/07/2025   842  FORTUNATE SON (J446) bumped at the start. In the middle stages raced keenly. For some distance near the 1000M was steadied away. After the event rider reported that his mount was badly held up for some distance after the 500M which resulted in his mount losing momentum after being checked at that stage of the race. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 842.
