He said in the early stages when caught wide and unable to find cover he elected to shift his mount in from a wide barrier to obtain cover which resulted in his mount settling further back than intended. He added that in the Home Straight his mount finished the race off only fairly from back in the field. Trainer confirmed the intention was to hold a more forward position. He added in the early stages he was satisfied that rider had obtained a position back in the field as the horse has a tendency to race keenly when ridden along in the early stages. He said the only explanation he could offer was that the horse was not suited by having to be ridden in that manner in the early stages. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 101.

Rider reported that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead in the early stages which resulted in it giving ground in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Finished tailed out and performance was considered unacceptable. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 128.
