2 5 AMERICAN CHAMPION (BN179) A Starke B Near rear after being checked at start. Improved quickly around field from 700 M to be wide in midfield turning in. Continued forward after straightening, shifted in and contributed to crowding at 200 M, kept on strongly.
3 10 HARMONY PRINCE (BS092) D Whyte -- Checked at start then improved to midfield. Responded well when asked to improve after 400 M. Was checked when crowded at 200 M. Kept on fairly afterwards. (See Racing Incidents.)
4 7 JEWEL BOX (BV024) D Bonilla -- Led early then steadied at 1000 M to take trail. Into clear on straightening and kept on fairly but not able to match finishing efforts of placegetters.
5 4 PRIVATE LIFE (BV345) J Egan B Near rear. Placed under pressure on straightening and responded well. Continued to make ground in run to post to be nearest at finish.
6 2 SILVER POWER (BS014) C H Tse B Prominent early. Despite being hard ridden failed to hold position after 700 M and dropped to midfield. Made slight improvement in straight but never raised supporters hopes.
7 12 SIR GALWAY (BP018) K H Ting B Ridden hard early to be outside lead. Went to lead on straightening. Held on until 200 M then unable to find any extra.
8 11 INVENTOR (BP172) W Woods B Behind midfield after being checked at start. Remained towards inner on home bend. Made ground early in straight then one-paced final 100 M.
9 1 SEATTLE SUN (BS116) E Legrix B Rear after being slow to begin. Waited with until after straightening. Taken to outside and made a little ground without ever looking a hope.
10 8 HEAVY WEAPON (BP154) S K Sit -- In front of midfield and 3-wide. Remained same into home straight then effort took its toll and commenced to give ground.
11 9 NEW DYNASTY (BT291) R Fradd B Outside leader early. Went forward to clear lead at 1000 M. Maintained lead until straightening then gave ground quickly.
12 3 DECOUVERT (BT114) M de Montfort B Midfield. Hampered on 1st turn. Failed to respond when asked for effort at 600 M. Not persevered with in straight.
