7 3 FAMOUS BRAND (CA353) E Saint-Martin -- Broke fairly, steadily moved forward from a good gate and led narrowly. Headed near the 200 M and then weakened gradually.
8 12 SUPERIOR TITLE (BT053) M W Leung -- Settled towards rear from a wide draw, always behind. Not much room to improve near 300 M and again 100 M, nearest at finish.
9 2 MUNDAHISH (BT250) Y T Cheng V Broke best but then steadily dropped to midfield or worse. Wide rounding home bend and was taken to wider into straight. Ran past a few beaten runners close home.
10 1 AHEAD A HEAD (CB092) S Dye -- Jumped a little awkwardly, then midfield or worse and proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Wide into straight. Made no show thereafter.
11 6 BANK ON IT (BT236) F Coetzee B/TT Niggled along to maintain in midfield. Wide along the back straight and rounding the home bend. Weakened steadily passing the 300 M.
12 8 SIR TIMAH (BT063) A Marcus SR Pushed early to be prominent until 900 M, then dropped back slightly to be behind leaders. Under pressure from 600 M but found nothing. Further weakened from 300 M. (Significant amount of blood in windpipe.)
