4 8 FLAGS UP (BS126) W C Marwing SR-/B1 Soon up there near pace 4 or 5 wide. Clear advantage one off rail 700 M out, challenged after straightening, overhauled 200 M out and no extra.
5 10 FAST TRACK (CB375) K C Tsang P From widest gate was taken to rear. Became 2 wide 1000 M out. Last and 8 or 9Ls adrift 400 M out, responded well and ran on steadily final 300 M to be nearest at finish, was steadied and shifted in near 200 M.
6 1 STRONGHEART (BT113) A Marcus TT Broke well then held up rear of midfield 3 or 4 wide. Crept closer rounding home turn to be 2-1/2Ls turning in, effort not sustained and just kept on same pace to the line.
7 2 MEDIC CORPS (CB200) F Coetzee -- Well there, pressed forward to take slender lead 900 M out, soon headed after 800 M and remained at leader's quarters on fence. Run ended near the 200 M and gave ground steadily.
8 13 SOYUZ (CB104) K S Yu -- Bumped on exiting, ridden but outpaced towards rear about 6Ls off speed. Crowded near 800 M and was checked, brief effort near 300 M, soon one paced.
9 4 REAL WINNER (CB051) H K Yim -- Did not jump well from difficult barrier, then dropped to rear 3 or 4 wide. Ran past beaten runners final 300 M.
10 6 INTERVENE (BV180) M Cahill BO Tardy start, soon recovered to be in front of midfield two wide. Unable to quicken in home stretch, tired closing stages.
11 12 ON THE TEE (CB052) Y T Cheng SR1 Pushed along early to be in touch. Crowded when pulling near 800 M, checked severely off heels and dropped to midfield. One paced in straight.

13 11 MR HECTOR (CB349) M W Leung -- Began awkwardly, then niggled along to dispute lead 1200 M out. Headed after the 1000 M but still prominently placed on rail. Unable to keep up 700 M out, dropped out further in the straight.
