3 7 LIBERAL'S CHOICE (CC345) S Dye -- 2-wide and kept racing within 3Ls of the pace. Pressured at 600 M and strode forward to raced upside leader. Unable to overtake the leader despite being ridden at 400 M. Kept pace in the straight.
4 9 EQUATOR KID (CC134) D Dunn -- Settled on fence in a rearward position. Dropped to last place 600 M out but moved up along the fence to midfield rounding home turn. Improved gradually in the closing stages.
5 5 DARWIN (CA068) A Delpech -- Niggled along on fence to keep within 2Ls of the pace. Similar position heading into home straight. Kept on well but couldn't find extra to challenge in the closing stages.
6 3 HELENE VITALITY (CA030) D Boeuf B 2-wide rear section in the early stages. Improved slightly when hard ridden after 600 M. Steadied shortly after straightening and continued to make steady ground in the closing stages.
7 12 SURVEYOR (CC159) K McEvoy -- 2-wide midfield in the early stages. Steadied when crowded after 700 M and dropped back slightly. Steadied again at home turn and was held up after 300 M. Ran on nicely and made up some late ground.
8 2 INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS (CC317) Y T Cheng -- On fence at midfield. Ridden at 600 M but was steadied and shifted out rounding home turn. One paced in the straight.
9 10 LUCKY PARADISE (CB441) F Coetzee -- 3-wide behind midfield. Steadied at 700 M whilst improving and dropped to rear section. Wide turning in and ran past some beaten runners in the straight.
10 4 COME SEE YOU (CA368) W M Lai -- Pressed on early to race in a forward position. Raced about a length behind pace in the back straight. Unable to keep pace despite being pressured at 500 M. Found nothing in the straight.
11 8 DASHING THUNDER (CD080) T Mundry B1 4-wide without cover in rear section. Improved to within 3Ls of the lead 600 M out but couldn't keep up despite being ridden. Widest turning in and weakened shortly after straightening.
12 6 KIDDY SING (CD005) R Fradd SR Slowly away and raced in last place. Improved slightly 700 M out but commenced to drop back after 600 M. Made no impression in the straight.
