2 6 ISLAND SPIRIT (CD014) R Fradd V Tardy start and soon recovered to race in better than midfield 2 to 3-wide with cover to straight. Under pressure 300 M out and made good impression inside final 200 M but just failed to run down the winner. (Lost left hind plate.)
3 9 UPPA HAND (CD221) B Prebble B Jumped well and niggled along to race in prominent position on rail whilst proving difficult to settle in the early stages. Placed under pressure 300 M out and ran on fairly but unable to match speed with 1st pair in closing stages.
4 12 TOUCH DOWN (CB013) F Coetzee TT Soon settled in worse than midfield 2-wide. Shifted out on straightening to obtain clear running and made up steady ground inside final 200 M to miss 3rd place by a narrow margin.
5 8 CAPABEL (CD195) G Schofield -- Broke fairly and niggled along to race in midfield 2-wide through to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 300 M out to be closest at finish.
6 2 HIGHLAND DAWN (CC138) G Mosse B Hard ridden along in the early stages to race in midfield on rail and was inconvenienced near the 1200 M. Under pressure at the home turn, did not respond well and only kept on evenly in straight. (Lost left front plate.)
7 4 NOBLE HEART (CC355) B Doyle -- Began fairly from wide draw and settled in a rearward position 2-wide through to straight. Under pressure 300 M and only able to run on evenly to the line.
8 3 TENNESSEE (CD066) P Payne -- Broke fairly from widest and soon raced in prominent position 2-wide through to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 300 M out and further weakened inside final 100 M.
9 7 MAIN ATTRACTION (CB218) O Doleuze B Raced in a rearward position on rail through to straight. Made up little ground inside final 200 M without threatening.
10 5 MASTER ABLE (CD349) A Delpech -- Jumped awkwardly and dropped to the tail, switched wide on straightening and kept on evenly to the line.
11 11 GLOBE MARK (CD227) Y T Cheng -- Lost ground at start, raced in worse than midfield whilst proving difficult to settle. No extra in straight and gave ground inside final 200 M.
