3 8 WINNING BULLET (CE260) D Whyte -- Broke with them, pressed forward early to take up prominent position, settled 3 back fence 3Ls off lead through mid section, inconvenienced entering straight and held up before bumping clear to finish well. (See Racing Incidents.)
4 2 CROWNED GEM (CE056) O Doleuze SR/V/TT Away well, settled in good spot 6th 2 wide 5Ls off lead, tracked 4 wide on turn and came with strong run in straight, bumped and hung in over final stages, should be a little closer.
5 10 ELEGANT KING PRAWN (CE265) R Fradd TT1 Broke best, restrained from wide gate to take trail, caught 3 wide midfield 6Ls from lead without cover, pressed forward 4 wide to be 3Ls from lead on straightening, tried hard in straight but passed final 100 M.
6 13 THE ONLY ONE (CB383) S K Sit V Away well, ridden hard to take up forward spot, raced 2 wide without cover 4Ls off lead throughout, urged along 3 wide to make ground on turn and given every chance in straight but not up to it.
7 6 ELECTRONICS SPUR (CE285) F Coetzee TT Jumped with them, settled well in 5th 4 back fence 5Ls from lead, used nothing in run, made run between runners and had no clear run when making good ground late. Not fully tested.
8 11 LUCKY CORDELIA (CD088) C Munce TT Broke well, drifted back to worse than midfield, raced in 9th position 2 wide 7Ls from lead, under pressure on turn and made some ground without threatening winner.
9 5 HANDBAG PREMIER (CD137) M Rodd B Hard ridden early to cross to rails, held spot behind leader throughout, travelled well to turn but lacked dash in straight to make impression.
10 1 CHATER SILK (CG050) A Delpech -- Fairly away, taken back to last from awkward gate, rearward 10Ls from lead thereafter, had field in front on turn, past tiring runners late.
11 12 ORIENTAL (CC202) W M Lai -- Awkward to begin, settled 4th last on rails 8Ls from front- runners, had easy run in middle stages, raced very one paced in straight.
12 14 THUNDER MAN (CB239) K S Yu B Broke with them, drifted back to settle 3rd last 2 wide 9Ls from lead, came 3 wide from 600 M and 4 wide on turn, showed no turn of foot in straight.
13 3 SIAMERIC TE SPECSO (CE171) B Prebble -- Away with them, caught wide from awkward draw, trapped 3 and 4 wide throughout 8Ls from lead, hard ridden on turn and failed to respond. (See Racing Incidents.)
14 4 COME HO CHOI (CE082) G Schofield SR/B1 Awkward to begin, settled 2nd last on rails 9Ls from speed, came 2 wide on turn but unable to make any impact in straight.
