6 9 LA TACHE (CG075) A Delpech -- Was bumped on jumping. Remained last but no more than 5Ls off the lead. Improved position on the rail making the turn. Switched out and made up good ground final 200 M. Closest at finish.
7 2 CHOICE AND CHANCE (CA381) E Saint-Martin B On jumping bumped with another runner, 3 wide rearward with cover until straightening. Quicken in the straight and made up ground outside in the straight.
8 7 BULLET TRAIN (CE028) H W Lai CP1 Slow to begin and was ridden to stay midfield on the rail. 4Ls behind leader on straightening. Kept on to stay in contention final stages.
9 12 HAPPY SUNDAY (CE169) C Brown B Fair jump. Ridden to keep within 2Ls from leader going into the turn. 3 wide without cover entering the straight. Weakened at 200 M.
10 11 UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR (CE096) C W Wong -- Settled 3 wide rearward. Saved ground along the rails making home turn. Failed to quicken and was one-paced in the final stages, never looked like a threat.
11 8 FLYING DAGGER (CG025) F Coetzee TT On jumping bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout and within 3Ls of the lead. Weakened badly final 250 M.
12 10 MILLION CHASE (CD132) B Prebble CP/H Midfield, 3 wide with cover, 4Ls from lead. On straightening shifted wide onto the track and weakened quickly with 200 M left.
