10 LIVERBIRD (CE055) S Sanders B 4Ls behind in 6th when 2-wide at 1000 M, eased closer 2Ls back in 4th taking home turn, picked up nicely to lead inside 300 M, driven out, never likely to be headed.
2 SUPER BALL (CD064) F Coetzee PC-/B2 Led by 2Ls on fence at 1000 M, a neck clear at top of stretch, headed around the 300 M mark but had enough in reserve to hang onto 2nd.
1 CHINSOLA (CD328) G Mosse B Stumbled at start, 4Ls down in 5th on fence at 1000 M, 3Ls down in 7th on fence off home turn, over 2Ls back in 4th or so at 200 M, had just enough to run a place.
4 CARE FREE PRINCE (CD333) D Whyte B 3-wide with cover when worse than midfield about 6Ls off speed down the back, 4Ls down in mid-division on straightening, over 2Ls down in 4th at 200 M, no extra close home.
6 TERRAFERMA (CG016) C Brown B Tended to over-race from 1100 M to 800 M when 2Ls off speed from 2nd to 4th, never had much room from top of home straight to 100 M, couldn't quicken once clear.
3 SOLAR POWER (CE047) O Doleuze SR 6Ls down in 9th when 3-wide with cover at 1000 M, 3Ls down in 6th entering home straight, one-paced thereafter.
7 SUNRISE STRIKER (CE278) C Soumillon -- A little slow to begin, on fence 6Ls back in midfield at 1000 M, worse than midfield and 5Ls behind the speed off home turn, made only minor late ground.
5 RED STORM RISING (CE007) C Munce -- Broke badly, becoming unbalanced, 2-wide and about 7Ls down in 12th until 800 M, still towards rear when 5Ls behind into stretch, made some modest late ground down centre of track.
14 THUNDER STORM (CA226) W M Lai B/H 2-wide and 2Ls off speed in 3rd at 1000 M, pressed on to be a neck down in 2nd at home turn when with every chance, failed to follow through and weakened inside final 200 M.
8 BARAKA (CD284) Y T Cheng -- 6Ls down in 8th when 2-wide at 1000 M, hard pressed on the circle to get within 4Ls of speed in 9th or so taking home turn, always outpaced.
13 SIMPLY THE BEST (CE014) G Schofield CP On fence when about 7Ls off speed in 10th or so until the 800 M, checked at 500 M and 5Ls down in 12th at top of home straight, making some minor headway when steadied at 100 M.
9 CLASSIC HORSE (CD378) E Saint-Martin CP-/B1 Lost ground at start, never really travelled well and always 4-wide no cover towards rear at least 7Ls off speed until the 600 M, 4-wide (widest) on straightening, had little hope.
11 NATIVE LANGUAGE (CB116) S Dye V About 8Ls last and niggled along at 800 M, marginally closer but still in rear group at home turn, never troubled leaders or those in midfield.
12 TURF GOLD (CD342) H W Lai -- Slowly away, 3-wide no cover when 2Ls off speed in 4th at 1000 M, same margin behind at top of home straight when hard ridden to keep up, retreated hastily.
