5 WINNING REWARD (CE254) D Whyte B Jumped with them, shuffled back from awkward alley, just worse than midfield 6Ls away 2 wide with trail, tracked eventual winner into straight, lost touch when they sprinted but stuck to task well to nearly grab win.
14 CHATER SILK (CG050) Y T Cheng -- Lost ground when bumped early, drove through to settle just off midfield on rails 6Ls away, travelled well to turn, held up midway in straight and finished strongly when clear. Should be closer.
11 COP HILL LAD (CD292) H K Yim -- Average away, pushed along to take up forward position, held spot 1 out 1 back 2Ls away throughout, travelled well 1L away on turn, came with run with winner but lacked dash to threaten. Kept on to make frame.
3 VIKING TOR (CE207) R Fradd B- Began with them, taken back to tail from wide alley, raced at rear 2 wide 10Ls from pace, made 3 wide run on turn, gave huge start and made up good ground widest in straight to be closest at finish.
12 TREASURE RAIDERS (CE049) S Dye CP Began well, showed good speed to hold prominent spot 2 wide in 5th position, 3 wide 3Ls away from 800 M, in mix at 300 M (hanging) but lacked turn of foot to threaten last bit.
7 STRAIGHT VICTORY (CE328) O Doleuze TT Slow to begin from wide alley, settled in 2nd last spot, raced on rails 8Ls from frontrunners using little in run, angled wide in straight, finished race off fairly from well back.
13 EXPEDITIOUS (CE136) F Coetzee TT Away with them, lacked early speed, drifted back to just off midfield 6Ls away in 2 wide spot, used little to turn but not travelling comfortably, raced very one paced in stretch making little ground. (See Racing Incidents.)
4 MY BROTHER (CG154) E Saint-Martin -- Crowded early, restrained to settle down in rearward division, raced 2 wide 8 to 9Ls from pace, using little in run, near to last on straightening, struggled to make ground in straight. Not knocked around.
8 PICTURE PERFECT (CD297) G Mosse -- Began only fairly, got going to hold midfield spot 5Ls away, raced 2 wide in mid-section using little to turn, in traffic early in straight but unable to make impression when clear.

10 CHAMP DRAGON (CB278) C K Tong V Best to begin, didn't have enough pace to cross, eventually took up spot outside leader, shaded leader throughout always working, still there to 250 M but compounded last 200 M. Worked too hard.
1 SOLAR EMPIRE (CB299) K T Yeung -- Showed great early speed to lead them and cross after 250 M, raced ungenerously in front at good speed, pressured to turn, kept fighting to 200 M but workload took toll and weakened late.
9 GLOBAL WAY (CG158) W M Lai -- Slow to begin, mustered some speed to be 3 back on fence 4Ls from leader, niggled along to hold ground throughout, couldn't keep up in straight to be beaten a long way.
