2 3 LOK WAH TREASURE (CA361) D Whyte TT Settled prominently behind the leader until home straight. Continued well on straightening and had to make a run through a tight gap after 200 M. Kept on gamely but lost whip after 100 M and was gunned down last few strides.
3 11 WIN DANCER (CC357) F Coetzee TT Raced in a forward position and kept alongside the leader after 1000 M. Stayed with the leader on straightening and took over the lead inside final 200 M. Kept on but failed to hold off top pair closing stages.
4 7 JOY AND TREASURE (CD251) G Schofield V/TT Crowded to the rear on jumping. Improved along the rails to be racing near midfield after 1200 M. Switched out on straightening and continued fairly to make the frame.
5 12 TO SIR WITH LOVE (CE054) H W Lai V Best out and took the lead. Held a length's advantage into the home straight but was headed at 200 M. Faded steadily in the closing stages.

7 9 METRO LEADER (CE005) W M Lai -- Ridden out to a forward position. Raced 2-wide behind the leader after 1200 M. Niggled along to keep pace 800 M out and was hard ridden at midfield making home turn. Only remained on same pace in the straight.
8 6 RENA'S WUNDERBAR (CA285) O Doleuze B/TT 2-wide behind midfield. Dropped to rear section after the Rock. Swung wide turning for home and only ran past beaten runners.
9 2 CHEERFUL HAPPINESS (CE220) K L Chui -- Checked shortly after start and then raced 3-wide behind midfield. Wide and steadily lost ground making home turn. Trailed field into home straight and only ran past beaten runners.
10 8 SPEED WINNER (CB195) D Dunn B Wide and without cover at midfield. Pressed forward after 900 M and was a length off the lead at the Rock. 3-wide making home turn and failed to keep pace. Weakened in the straight.
11 5 STAR OF NORTHERN (CD173) C Munce V/TT 3-wide at midfield. Pressured to keep pace at 700 M but lacked a response. Found nothing in the straight.
12 4 AMBITIOUS MARJU (CE160) B Prebble -- Raced 2-wide at midfield. Had trouble keeping pace after the Rock. Lacked a response under the whip and finished tailed out.
