2 6 SUPREME CLASS (CG089) K L Chui CP/TT Awkward to begin, soon mustered speed to hold spot behind leader 2Ls away, had fair trip in mid-section, angled 3 wide into clear on turning and claimed them at 250 M, kept on strongly but was no match for winner.
3 2 GOODY (CD239) A Delpech -- Standard to begin, drifted back to assume usual role near rear, raced on rails 8Ls away for most of journey, used nothing to turn, held up early in straight, closed race off well when clear.
4 8 WEALTHY TREASURE (CC270) R Fradd -- Fast into stride, unable to go on with it early, settled down 3 wide with cover in midfield 4 to 5Ls from pace, always working to turn, tracked nicely in straight and closed race off well to narrowly miss 3rd place.
5 11 WINNING SUCCESS (CE312) C Munce TT Awkward to begin but quickly got going to hold midfield spot, raced 2 wide 5Ls from lead, raced fiercely in middle stages, tracked well to turn, came with run between horses in straight but failed to keep on last bit.
6 14 CZAR OF PRUSSIA (CB378) D Dunn -- Jumped with them, raced a little closer than usual 3 back on fence 4Ls from lead, had soft run in mid-section, used nothing to turn, gained dream split at 300 M, tried hard but was unable to make an impression.
7 13 GUNG HO (CE020) M Kinane BO-/B2 Fair to begin, allowed to relax and settle worse than midfield, raced 2 wide 6 to 7Ls away a little further back than usual, still had job to do on turn, switched to outside and closed race off fairly doing best work late.
8 10 WINNING REWARD (CE254) H W Lai B Jumped with field, pushed hard to be closer than usual, 1 out 1 back 3Ls away from pace, closed with 4 wide run on turn tackling leaders, failed to go on with it from 300 M and only kept same pace to line. (See Racing Incidents.)

12 12 ESPERANZA (CG159) W M Lai -- Jumped in air and lost ground, niggled along to hold closer position 4 back on rails 6Ls away, not asked in middle stages, under pressure on turning, stuck to rails but made hard work of it last 200 M and unable to close race off.
13 9 CHIMERA (CG242) K T Yeung -- Fastest to leave gates, made use of the race to lead (didn't fully cross), raced off rails with 1/2L advantage in mid-section, began to struggle on turning for home, offered nothing when asked and stopped quickly to be well beaten.
14 7 CHEERFUL MASTER (CE309) O Doleuze B/TT Away with rest, unable to slot in close to rails, raced 3 wide with cover worse than midfield (over-racing), struggling on turn, swung wide into straight but never comfortable in going and not ridden out last 200 M.
