2 3 FAT CHOY FOREVER (CD111) O Doleuze -- Standard break, urged along to make up ground and hold leaders back, had run of race 1L back in mid-section, obtained dream split turning in, challenged strongly and took over at 200 M only to be denied late.
3 1 HELENE ELEGANCE (CB004) F Coetzee PC/TT First to hit ground, showed plenty of speed to take up running, kept them going at good tempo, held 1L advantage on turning, kicked strongly in straight, headed at 200 M but stuck to task gamely to hold place.
4 12 BENEFICIAL (CG239) M Nunes TT1 Slowly into stride, niggled along to make up ground, raced on rails 8Ls away behind midfield, gave big start turning in, made up plenty of ground in straight to be closest at finish. Vastly improved effort.
5 2 FLASHING STAR (CC018) G Mosse -- Jumped with field, pressed on to take up prominent spot 1 out 1 back 2 to 3Ls away, tracked well on bend and close enough on turning, made good run threatening until 200 M before running out of gas late.
6 5 HIP HIP HOORAY (CD258) E Saint-Martin B Began in line, not far away early, raced 4Ls back behind speed, carted rest up to them on turn, switched out in straight, lacked usual finishing burst and only closed race off at same pace to line.
7 4 GENKI KING (CD309) K L Chui TT Amongst first few to break, did plenty to cross from wide alley to race at leaders girth, kept pace genuine not far away to turn, under pressure on turning, gradually faded out of it from 250 M.
8 11 WIN FOR ALL (CD002) H K Yim -- Standard start, lacked early speed, forced to race wide worse than midfield 8Ls from pace, tracked nicely but well back on turning, came to outside and steadily made ground under hands and heels only. (Rider questioned.)
9 6 SOLAR (CC198) S Dye B-/P1 Average break, unable to match them early, raced 12Ls back detached from main pack, under hard riding on bend with job to do, didn't quicken but plugged away to get past a few horses late.
10 8 ABLE KNIGHT (CE079) H W Lai H/TT Began with field, urged along to hold spot behind speed in midfield, lost ground in mid-section to be 7 to 8Ls back on rails, never really travelling, gradually faded out in straight to be well beaten.
11 7 PRESENT TREASURE (CC077) R Fradd TT Fair break, pushed along but unable to hold prominent spot, drifted back to midfield, 3 wide 6Ls back in mid-section, struggling on bend, found nothing when pressure applied and only battled to line.
12 9 DELIGHTFUL WIN (CC154) K T Yeung -- Tardy to begin, soon detached at rear, more than a dozen Ls back on rails throughout, hard pressed on bend, never responded and beaten a long way.
