3 CAGA BOY (CG060) M Nunes B- Only fair to begin, steadily improved to race 5Ls back on rails in midfield, had easy time and appreciated pace on, improved on bend, eased out and gained split at 300 M, dashed over the top of them to earn win.
8 LASER TIGER (CG251) B Prebble -- Even break, settled down behind pace 3 to 4Ls back on rails, had best run in race, improved turning in but held up until 250 M, bumped way into clear and fought on well despite still being a little green.
2 WIN PRACTITIONER (CG180) S Dye B1 Slow to begin, soon towards rear, raced 3 wide 10Ls back, reluctant to improve in mid-section and hung on bend, tracked nicely 4 wide turning in, made up huge amount of ground late to nearly snatch 2nd, still green.
5 SHINING DRAGON (CC181) M W Leung SR First to hit ground, used plenty to challenge for lead from wide alley, took control and set good tempo 1L clear, still held advantage turning, kicked strongly to 150 M but couldn't muster another effort. Held on well to make frame.
1 FINGERS CROSSED (CG037) O Doleuze -- Began awkwardly, soon settled at tail 10Ls from leaders on rails, ridden along to steadily improve but still had job to do on turning, switched to middle and held up at 200 M, came again when clear to be closest on line.
10 FEEL-SO-GOOD (CG056) E Saint-Martin -- Jumped with rest, pressed forward but couldn't go early pace, drifted back to settle behind midfield 6 to 7Ls back in 2 wide spot, switched out turning in, closed steadily making good ground without threatening first few.
9 FIRST KNIGHT (CB357) G Mosse B Moderate beginning, assumed usual position towards tail, raced on rails 9 to 10Ls away, did little in mid-section, kept to inside turning in, closed race off nicely weaving between horses to be closest on line.
6 FANTASTIC GUY (CH025) C K Tong -- Poor to begin, soon at rear, raced 12Ls away and struggling to keep touch, still detached with job to do on turning in, balanced up and got going in straight making up huge amount of ground late. (See Racing Incidents.)
7 FOREVER FORTUNE (CG145) Y T Cheng B1 Average break, pushed along to hold midfield spot from wide alley, forced to race 3 wide without cover 7Ls off them, angled 4 wide turning in, didn't finish off with much effort and made only moderate ground.
4 PEARL OF INDIA (CD298) D Nikolic B Started off nicely, didn't go with first few, assumed midfield trail 2 wide 4Ls away, angled into clear 4 wide on bend, came with promising run but condition gave out and only plugged to line thereafter.
14 THUNDER STORM (CA226) K L Chui B/H Quick to leave gates, pushed on from wide alley to eventually sit outside leader 1L away, kept leader in sight on bend, under pressure but there to 250 M before early effort told and weakened out late.
12 HAPPY ALL AROUND (CD248) H W Lai B Well enough to begin, prominent early in coveted 1 out 1 back spot, still there 2Ls back on turn, under stick to improve 3 wide into straight, didn't let down when they sprinted and only plugged to line.
13 MOONGLOW (CG008) S K Sit B/TT Began OK, hard ridden but failed to muster, settled further back than expected on rails 7 to 8Ls away, still had plenty to do when improving turning in, kept to rails making some ground until 250 M but laboured late. (Mucopus.)
11 PERFECT ATHLETE (CG276) C W Wong -- Jumped with them, showed early speed to roll forward and battle for lead, surrendered and raced behind leader in mid-section, had easy time to bend, didn't find when gap appeared and dropped out badly in run home.
