12 LHOJONG (CG281) D Whyte B/SR Only standard to begin, settled down in midfield on rails before taking 2-wide spot 4Ls back leaving straight, had nice trip trailing speed throughout, came 3 to 4-wide on bend and dashed strongly to assert authority late.
9 DISGUISE (CG004) O Doleuze B Jumped fairly, had enough dash to slot into sweet seat 1 out 1 back 2Ls away, always travelled in mid-section, peeled out 3-wide on bend, made run with winner in straight and just lost battle for victory late.
8 DASH AHEAD (CD199) H W Lai SR Moderate getaway, ridden along to keep up behind midfield 6Ls back on rails, had a quiet time in middle stages, saved ground on turning in, switched out in straight closing hard to snatch 3rd late.
4 WHATABOB (CD213) F Coetzee B/XB Well enough to begin, drove through to hold rails on leaders back, enjoyed run of race settling 2Ls back throughout, right there on turning in, didn't get a lot of clear room in the straight but kept on well when clear to make frame.
7 CALIFORNIA BISHOP (CD351) K L Chui TT First to hit ground, possessed plenty of speed to take up running from some noted speedsters, kept them rolling at an even clip, dictated terms to turn, fought doggedly in straight and only tired last 100 M to miss frame.
1 LIBERAL'S CHOICE (CC345) B Prebble -- Bounced out, made a challenge for front but had to be content with racing outside leader, travelled well 1L back in mid-section, moved up to apply pressure on bend, couldn't find last furlong and weakened late.
11 SHABU SHABU (CB290) E Saint-Martin -- Slowly into stride, assumed usual spot next to last, raced on rails 8Ls off frontrunners, given a quiet time in mid-section, still well back on bend, kept to rails on turning and made up many lengths to be nearest on line.
10 NORTHERNER (CD293) D Nikolic XB No speed from outset, raced detached at tail 10Ls off them, lobbed along at the rear spending little throughout, saved ground on fence on bend, switched out but held up to 200 M, closed evenly when clear.
5 AMPLE GAINS (CE021) S K Sit B Began awkwardly, urged along and regathered to hold down midfield position on rails 5Ls from them, had easy trip thereafter, improved on rails to be 3Ls down on turning, one-paced in run home making a little headway.
6 EQUATOR KID (CC134) A Starke -- Away with them, lacked early toe and shifted back to be behind midfield 2-wide 6Ls back, had an easy trip to Rock before making 4-wide run, switched out in straight but lacked usual finish and made no progress from too far back.
2 GREENESSY (CE001) Y T Cheng CP Tardy to begin, assumed expected spot in rearward division, not asked to work in mid-section and saved for one run, made a 4-wide run on bend and came widest into straight, made little impression from so far back.
3 RUM SHOT (CE206) M W Leung B-/V1/TT1 Well enough to jump and crossed to be in midfield 5Ls away raced further back than usual again and still behind midfield and under pressure at Rock, gave in easily and just plodded in straight.
