12 CALIFORNIA LUCK (CG215) K L Chui TT Away well, soon settled into box-seat role on fence 2Ls off pace in 3rd, keen at 800 M, found clear running room at top of home straight and stayed on well to hit lead 100 M out, eased down close home.
11 TOP TOP LIGHT (CG182) G Mosse TT Racing freely when 3-back on fence better than midfield about 4Ls off pace at halfway, edged a little closer turning for home, stayed on well for 2nd but winner was too strong.
6 FLY ME TO THE MOON (CG104) D Whyte B Away well and soon led, crossed to fence leading by 1L at 900 M, same margin ahead until the 200 M, headed by winner at 100 M and quickly lost out on quinella.
5 CRYSTAL (CE209) C W Wong B Always close-up in 2nd out 2-wide and about 1L off pace until home straight, had every chance to at least place but lacked an extra burst when it mattered.
4 HOLIGAN (CH003) D Beadman B Slowly away, 4-back on fence about 5Ls back in 10th at 1000 M, same margin behind taking home turn, stayed on fairly late without threatening principals.
1 WALKONTHEWILDSIDE (CG033) O Doleuze -- With cover in rear bunch about 7Ls behind at 1000 M, marginally closer turning for home, stayed on well enough down centre of track, nearest at finish.
14 SOLAR (CC198) D Dunn B Bumped at start, on fence 8Ls off pace in last at 1000 M, 6Ls back in 13th at home turn, made some minor late headway but never dangerous.
10 SUPER SURPRISE (CH210) A Delpech -- Close up in 4th or 5th about 2Ls or so off pace but 3-wide no cover until halfway, hard pressed to hang onto this proximity at home turn and 200 M, one-paced close home.
13 CARRY GOOD NEWS (CG219) W M Lai -- 4-wide but mostly with cover in rear and about 6Ls back in 11th at 1000 M, 5-wide and still well back taking home turn, made little impact.
7 DELIGHTFUL WIN (CC154) H W Lai -- Never better than midfield, slow break and always at least 4Ls from the front, lost further ground in homestretch.
3 MULLAAD (CG259) F Coetzee -- Never travelled well, keen early on when about 3Ls back in 6th, under pressure to lie up 600 M out, gave ground tamely from top of home straight.
2 CHIMERA (CG242) M Nunes XB/TT Worse than midfield 3-wide with cover about 5Ls from the front at 1000 M, a little further back when 4-wide taking final bend, remained in rear.
8 OWNERS LAD (CG273) B Prebble B/TT Always 4-wide no cover and keen, checked at 1100 M when about 3Ls back in midfield, 4-wide turning for home when under pressure to keep up, dropped out rapidly, had excuses. (Blood in trachea.)
