5 NATURAL NINE (CG087) G Mosse XB Even break, pressed on to sit closer, trapped 3 wide outside first few without cover, not harmed by slow tempo 3Ls back, improved to be 1 to 2Ls back on bend, took over at 400 M, went on to win in good style with something in hand.
13 TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND (CG227) B Prebble -- Away with them, went forward and worked across to be outside leader, refused to settle and overraced throughout 1L back, moved closer on circle, made run with winner but couldn't sprint, held rest off gamely for a 2nd.
4 NASA PEARL (CC068) O Doleuze -- Standard jump, assumed spot behind midfield 5 to 6Ls back 2 to 3 wide, not helped by slow tempo, improved with cover on the bend, 4Ls down coming 4 wide turning, sprinted hard to 200 M and looked a chance but just peaked last 100 M.
2 EYE WITNESS (CG027) F Coetzee XB/TT Well enough away, settled further back than expected from a wide alley, had cover 3 wide in midfield 5Ls back, harmed by moderate tempo, closed to be 2Ls down off bend, found under pressure and held ground well to make frame.
12 COURAGEOUSHEART (CD202) K L Chui B Bounced out well, led early before slotting into spot behind leader, had best trip on leaders back with slow speed, right there 1L back leaving bend, cleared traffic at 150 M but could only manage same gear keeping on evenly late.
7 DR MORE (BV164) Y T Cheng -- Ordinary getaway, settled around midfield on the rails, had a quiet trip 5Ls back but not assisted by the speed, back behind traffic turning, clear from 300 M, closed off nicely without looking likely to be nearest on line.
3 GOLD FIELD (CC096) D Nikolic B Out with line, ended up in prime spot 1 out 1 back 2Ls back in 5th, didn't spend anything with slow speed on, close enough turning in, followed them most of straight just lacking the turn of foot to capitalize.
6 SEASONS KNACK (CC242) E Saint-Martin -- Well enough away, in a handy spot 2Ls back on rails, had a quiet time with average speed on, kept to rails saving ground to bend, held up at 300 M, clear last 200 M but couldn't make a real impression when dashed home quickly.
10 ROYAL FALCON (CE091) K T Yeung B/TT Moderate to begin, further back than expected in rearward division 2 wide 7 to 8Ls back, not helped by moderate tempo still well back to bend, came to middle but only passed tired runners late. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 HAPPY CONTENDER (CC152) D Whyte TT Restrained from outset, settled at tail 2 wide 7 to 8Ls back, a little closer 4Ls down in 8th between horses on bend into clear from 300 M but didn't pick up as usual and just battled to line.
9 SUPER DANA (CC293) H W Lai B Fastest out, pushed forward to eventually lead them entering back straight, dictated terms at a modest speed 1L clear on bend, had pressure applied on turning, found little and weakened last 300 M to be beaten easily.
8 CELEBRATION (CB029) C W Wong B Slowly away, settled near rear, raced on rails 7Ls off speed, not set a task in mid stages but disadvantaged by slow tempo, last on turning, failed to run on and struggled to line last furlong.
