3 2 ENTHUSED (CH303) O Doleuze -- Fast out, pushed on to take up running, controlled race throughout with steady sections, held a 1L advantage on bend, kicked briefly on turning but couldn't hold off rivals last 150 M, kept on evenly for place.
4 10 BUTTERFIELD (CG178) D Whyte B Restrained from a wide gate, ended up 6-7Ls back in 2-wide line, harmed by slow tempo, still well back in impossible spot at 400 M, made good late progress in straight to be nearest on line.
5 7 YOUNG HERO (CH071) B Prebble XB/TT1 Away fairly, took a trail behind pace 3-4Ls back on fence, enjoyed a soft run with steady pace, improved gradually on turning taking inside runs, peaked on efforts at 150 M and just kept position in run to line.
6 11 FAT DRAGON (CD130) M W Leung -- Out with rest, took up coveted 1 out 1 back slot, used little with slow tempo, right there on leaving bend, made even progress before steadying at 200 M, just held ground thereafter.
7 4 WINNING REWARD (CE254) H W Lai B Standard jump, ended up 5Ls back on rails, not helped by slow speed in mid-section, back in traffic on bend, took inside runs and closed well in straight but couldn't pair back margin.
8 5 NILOMETER (CD052) C W Wong TT Out with first few, pushed on to race outside leader, had ideal run with slow pace on, no excuses 1L down turning, run ended at 200 M despite steadying, no extra thereafter.
9 1 SOUNDS BEST (CE255) W M Lai TT Little dash from gates, raced 5-6Ls away in 2-wide line, not helped by slow speed at top end, still well back to bend, unable to make headway in straight.
10 9 ELFHELM (CC342) C K Tong B Taken back from outset, raced 6Ls back on fence, harmed by steady sectionals in middle stages, had job to do on turning in, lacked usual close and struggled over concluding stages.
