2 FELLOWSHIP (CG292) Z Purton TT Crossed to midfield from a wide alley to be 3Ls down in 2 wide line, had ideal trip in mid-section, began to improve at 400 M, let down nicely and stuck to task to score a shade comfortably in finish.
1 EXCELLENT BOY (CE238) G Mosse P Taken back from a wide gate, posted 3 wide 5Ls back without covering, crept closer on bend, made good ground over last 300 M chasing hard to be not far away on line.
3 SIGHT WINNER (CJ049) K T Yeung -- Away in line, slotted in to running line 4Ls back in midfield, overraced in run, improved behind eventual winner at 500 M, made useful progress in straight despite racing tight to take 3rd.
11 SOUTH BREEZE (CG241) M Du Plessis -- Away in line, ended up 3Ls back on fence, enjoyed a quiet trip throughout, improved behind horses on bend, kept on nicely but just lacked extra gear, made frame with usual honest close.
10 EYSHAL (CJ099) W M Lai B/TT Little early pace, assumed spot 3 wide 6 to 7Ls back behind midfield, had cover in mid-section, came to middle on turning and closed off creditably to be nearest on line.
9 DANESIS (CH194) F Coetzee TT Showed early pace, assumed 1 out 1 back spot in ideal position, travelled kindly throughout, pushed along turning in, briefly threatened but couldn't dash with them and just held ground last 200 M.
8 GALLANT CHAMPION (CJ002) K L Chui B-/TT- Taken back from outset, raced at rear 10Ls away, improved 3 wide when pace slackened, still back with last few on turning, came widest in straight and made many lengths from an impossible position.
13 RICE FIELD (CE134) S K Sit TT Ordinary jump, raced 7 to 8Ls back on fence in rearward division, not helped by steady tempo, improved between horses rounding bend, made steady ground without looking likely in stretch.
7 CRUSADER OF GOLD (CE188) M Nunes B No early pace, raced 9Ls back at rear in 2 wide line, harmed by the steady pace, still at rear on turning, switched out and made even progress to 200 M when run ended.
14 NORTHERNER (CD293) M W Leung XB Began well, took a more prominent role racing behind leader, had ideal run with steady tempo, close enough on turning but lacked a finish and gradually weakened out.
5 LU YUE (CH278) Y T Cheng B/H Fast into stride, took up lead easily, set a slow tempo to suit despite worry from outside horse, shared lead on turning, couldn't lift and overhauled at 400 M, folded quickly thereafter.
6 SUPREME GAINS (CG057) G Boss CP-/SR2/TT1 No pace as usual, ended up 9Ls back on rails, harmed by steady tempo, set an impossible task on bend, well down on straightening, passed only tired horses in straight.
4 HAIL THE STORM (CE125) D Beadman B-/V1 No gate speed, 6 to 7Ls back on fence, not asked in mid-section, failed to respond at 400 M and lacked usual finish, weakened out tamely (jockey reported raced flat).
12 BEING FAMOUS (CD018) H W Lai B/TT Amongst rest to jump, pressed on to race outside leader, shared front but helped by steady pace, still there at 400 M but flattened soon after and quickly dropped out.
