2 14 NATIONAL GLORY (CJ176) J Lloyd B/XB Began in line, slotted in behind pace group 3 to 4Ls back in 2 wide line, had fair run to bend, inconvenienced early straight but got moving over final furlong to go down by a nose.
3 7 CALIFORNIA MOON (CK097) M Chadwick TT Began well, pressed forward to take up prominent role, showed lead throughout, headed leader on turning, led until inside 200 M but couldn't lift when collared, kept on respectably for 3rd.
4 12 RED RULER (CH198) C W Wong V-/TT No early speed, taken back to rear, raced 7 to 8Ls or so away at tail, saved ground on rails to bend, made many lengths along inside in straight to be nearest on line. (See Racing Incidents.)
5 10 GOUF (CJ227) B Prebble CP/TT Out with rest, assumed a midfield role 3 to 4Ls back, difficult to settle in mid-section, awkwardly placed roundin bend, made gradual progress when clear to be closest at finish.
6 13 WIN A DOZEN (CH262) M L Yeung TT Fast away, pressed on in search of front, posted 3 wide with cover 2Ls off speed, same margin down turning kept on evenly straight holding ground late.
7 11 AMNESTY (CK051) K C Leung B/TT Tardy to begin and unable to take usual promenent spot, positioned 6Ls back in running line, back with last few turning, made some ground final 200 M.
8 1 GRAND STORE (CH087) P H Lo TT- Shared early speed, kicked up to hold lead, pressured throughout and shaded on bend by outside horse, headed at 300 M and just weakened out thereafter.
9 2 HO HAPPY (CK286) J Winks -- Standard break, ended up back behind midfield 5 to 6Ls away on rails throughout, lacked extra gear on turning and simply kept on at one paced in straight.
10 5 LUCKYME (CH012) Y T Cheng -- Didn't muster and went back from an outside alley, posted 3 wide amongst last few 7Ls or so away, always well back, passed only tired runners late.
11 6 SUPER FORTUNE (CK269) H W Lai -- Began fairly, hard ridden to take a spot behind speed, raced 1 out 1 back to bend, still 2Ls down turning but found little when placed under pressure and faded out.
12 4 BRILLIANT ONE (CG212) W M Lai -- Taken back soon after start, ended up 7 to 8Ls away, always rearward and still had plenty to do on turning, no response in straight and battled to line.
13 8 OUR PEGASUS (CK093) O Doleuze -- Standard break, ended up racing 3 wide but had cover in midfield 5Ls off pace, dropped in on bend, struggling on turning, gradually dropped out.
14 3 BROTHERS IN ARMS (CJ070) W C Marwing CP Began with purpose, pressed forward but trapped 3 wide without cover, did plenty of work to bend, hung in straight and unable to be ridden out, folded easily.
